The event, held from May 6 to 8, brings together exhibitors and buyers from Brazil and several other countries, showcasing the strength and potential of the region’s wine industry.

Viticulture Sector Receives R$ 44.3 Million in Investment

With the release of these new funds, the total investment in supporting viticulture in Rio Grande do Sul through Fundovitis now stands at R$ 44.3 million. This amount further strengthens the partnership between the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production, and Irrigation (Seapi) and the Consevitis Institute, which is already implementing a R$ 33 million work plan. This support aims to further boost the local viticulture industry, which has already received R$ 20.9 million in verified disbursements.

Governor Leite Highlights the Importance of the Viticulture Sector

Governor Eduardo Leite emphasized the importance of the viticulture industry to Rio Grande do Sul, highlighting the role of wine production not only for the quantity of products but also for the quality of the vineyards. “Valuing this sector, which generates thousands of jobs, is essential for the state. It’s not just about processing grapes; it’s about planting and transforming what’s harvested into a beverage that symbolizes joy and celebration,” Leite stated.

Vice-Governor Gabriel Souza Reinforces the Sector’s Growth Strategy

Vice-Governor Gabriel Souza emphasized that the investments aim not only to strengthen the local sector but also to expand the consumer market. “We are investing in research and international promotion of Rio Grande do Sul wine. This is crucial for continuing to improve the quality of our wines and sparkling wines and opening new markets,” said Souza.

Secretary Edivilson Brum Highlights the Growth of the Viticulture Sector

The Seapi Secretary, Edivilson Brum, also addressed the importance of increased resources for the sector. “The productive sector requested this increase to intensify the promotion of wine and its derivatives, valuing local products and ensuring the growth of a crucial sector for the state, which is the largest producer of grapes and wines in Brazil,” Brum emphasized.

Rio Grande do Sul Positioned as a Hub for Origin Products

In an effort to solidify Rio Grande do Sul as a reference for origin products, the state government, through the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedec) and the Invest RS agency, is actively participating in Wine South America 2025. A collective stand will be dedicated to promoting Gaúcho companies, selected through a public call. These exhibitors will have the opportunity to showcase their wines, olive oils, and other products to a global audience, strengthening the state’s image as a center of excellence in viticulture and agro-industrial production.
